Traffic Dictator is a controller for Segment Routing that does it right. It is not an over-engineered network automation and management software, but a pure routing solution that makes SR-TE easy.

- All the standard Traffic Engineering capabilities, including bandwidth reservations, link affinities, explicit path etc.
- Fully leveraging native Segment Routing capabilities such as ECMP and Anycast routing to build Traffic Engineering policies.
- Multi-domain Traffic Engineering across different IGP instances, using Seamless MPLS or Inter-AS designs.
- Powerful Egress Peer Engineering (EPE) capabilities allow network operators to efficiently route traffic via all egress peerings, taking into account bandwidth and link affinity.
- BGP SR-TE is used to advertise policies, which allows the operator to reuse the existing BGP infrastructure and does not require hundreds of sessions between controller and routers.
- BGP-LU can be used as an alternative method to advertise policies to legacy routers that don’t support BGP SR-TE.
- Simple configuration and troubleshooting using an industry-standard CLI.
- Integration with network automation systems using HTTP API and GNMI.
- Availalable as a Docker container or a Virtual machine, TD can be installed on a dedicated host, existing VM or container infrastructure or even on a router that can run Docker containers.
